Y4 Art: Self-Portraits

14th Nov 2024

We are very excited in Y4 this term, because we are going to express ourselves, whilst creating a self-portrait! We have begun this topic by looking at a number of pieces by Vincent van Gogh, Frida Kahlo and Pablo Picasso, and we discussed the techniques that we could see and the different medium that each piece of art could have been created with.

To begin our journey we honed our pencil skills by practising a range of shading and texture skills, such as stippling and cross hatching. We will build up on these skills, to eventually create a wonderful self-portrait.

Well done, Y4, for making a brilliant start to your new topic!
