Y3 DT: Creating Puppets

7th Jul 2023

Our DT lessons have a textiles focus and the children having been developing and practising a range of new skills. As part of our current topic each has designed a puppet for children in FS2 and then has worked hard creating their puppets.

The Y3 children chose a 'bee' theme, linked to their Science topic, which is focused on flowers and pollination.

The children had to use and apply various skills in order to create their puppets including:

  • designing a suitable pattern
  • drawing the pattern accurately
  • cutting out a fabric pattern
  • sewing the materials together
  • decorating with a suitable design

The children have worked really hard and they have made some super hand and finger puppets in line with the brief!
