This week the children of Y6 have been working towards their next writing objective - to produce a detailed setting description of a First World War battlefield during the Christmas truce of 1914. The children have been practicing how to use colons in their sentences, both to introduce lists and to separate clauses. The children have also planned their work before drafting their writing, paying close attention to include a range of sentence structures. Next week, we shall edit and improve our work before writing it up in neat.
