Y6 Visit to London

25th Feb 2020

By Sophie – Our School Council Secretary

On the 14th of February, Y6 went on a school trip to London. It had been planned for a while and the class was undoubtedly excited. The coach journey there took approximately four hours, but was definitely worth it.

Once we had arrived, it was a short journey to the London Eye. It was immense even though many pupils and teachers felt nervous about going on.

In the end, everyone went on and enjoyed it. High above the Thames, the pupils took advantage of the incredible photo opportunity and tour guide, and went home with many memories.

Next on the list was the Houses of Parliament. Everyone watched a short film about the history of Parliament. It was very informative and was projected on all four walls!

Then the pupils went on to the House of Lords and the House Commons and learned about the process of making and passing laws. We discovered that anyone could go on to be presented in the House of Commons and many of us decided that we would like to!

After this, we boarded a clipper boat on the Thames and set sail from Westminster Pier to The Tower of London. The boat was extremely luxurious and we were able to relax whilst eating our packed lunches on the water!

Once we  arrived, we wasted no time taking in the historic landscape. We saw many ravens as well the Crown Jewels!

The Tower grounds were vast and there was so much to see and do! We visited the armoury and saw different pieces of armour worn by different kings. There was even armour for a lady!

London was amazing and we were sad to leave. It was a longer six-hour long journey back because of traffic and a stop off at KFC on the way home.

Later we were picked up by our weary parents, and went home reminiscing about our fabulous day!
