Y6 Science: Water & The Circulatory System

15th Nov 2025

This week the children of Y6 concluded their science unit on the circulatory system by studying the important role of water within blood. We learnt that water makes up a huge part of plasma, which is the liquid component of blood. We established that water is crucial within the blood network, as it allows for oxygen, nutrients and red and white blood cells to be transported quickly across the network of arteries and throughout the body. Perhaps most importantly, the children now understand the biological need for humans to stay well-hydrated!

To record their learning, the children created these stunning fact-files in their science workbooks!

We now look forward to beginning our next science unit, in which we shall explore the classification of various organisms, including animals, plants and microorganisms!
