Y6 Science: The Human Eye

1st Jun 2025

In Term 5 the young people of Y6 studied the properties of light and how light interacts with the physical world. In our final week of learning, we explored the anatomy of our eyes as well as the complex process by which our eyes use light to see. The children worked hard to understand the journey of light through the cornea and pupil, the role of the eye's lens in directing light towards the retina, as well as the functions of the optic nerves and brain.

We now look forward to beginning our final scientific unit of the academic year, which focuses on Charles Darwin's theory of evolution.
