Y6 Hollowford Residential 2025

10th Oct 2025

Here is a word from Mr MacInnes...

Last week, the young people of Y6 made the trip to Castleton for the annual Y6 residential at the Hollowford Centre.

Over the course of their stay, the children showed immense courage. teamwork and leadership, as they embraced a range of thrilling and challenging activities, including high ropes and abseiling, caving, and zip-wiring.

Their ingenuity was on full display with the competitive fun of raft building and canoeing on a reservoir, while on land they honed practical skills during bushcraft sessions.

The week culminated in a memorable Friday morning walk that took us along the scenic Mam Tor road, a fitting end to what was a truly wonderful residential experience.

We would like to extend our sincerest thanks to all of the wonderful Hollowford staff for all of their preparation, expertise, and encouragement over the course of the three days.

We also thank Mr MacInnes for arranging and coordinating this amazing opportunity, and Mrs Grayson too, for helping to support the children on the visit. More photos will be uploaded in due course.
