Y6 History: WW2 Timelines

12th Jan 2025

This week the children of Y6 have started to study their latest unit of history: The Second World War. We began by exploring the ways in which The First World War, which we studied in the Autumn Term, provided the historical and political context for WW2, particularly with reference to the Treaty of Versailles, which the children were already familiar with.

The children then learnt about some of the most significant moments within the conflict, including the Nazi invasion of Poland, the attack on Pearl Harbour, D-Day and various other turning points of the war. We organised these events chronologically and the children produced these excellent timelines in their workbooks.
