Y6: Festive Fun

12th Dec 2025

The young people of Y6 have been immersed in a whirlwind of memorable festive activities over the past few weeks.

Last Friday was an absolute highlight as our students enjoyed the brilliant activities organised by our dedicated PTFA at the annual 'Santa in School' day. The school grounds were filled with cheer and laughter, making it a truly magical experience for all.

We were then very grateful to be invited by the transition team at All Saints Catholic High School to attend this year's student Christmas performance of 'Sister Act'. The level of talent and professionalism displayed was truly fantastic. It was particularly inspiring to see several St. John Fisher alumni taking centre stage.

On Wednesday, the class enjoyed a spectacular outing to the Lyceum Theatre for the annual Christmas pantomime. This year's production of 'Aladdin' was a huge success, with all of our children thoroughly enjoying the production!

The children were also hugely excited to spend time with their Y2 buddies this week, as they joined them to assist in sewing their very own Christmas stockings. This provide a priceless opportunity for each Y6 child to spend time with their designated buddy and to offer them support and help in their learning.

Our action-packed week was brought to a joyful close with the playground 'Santa Dash'. The children embraced the festive challenge, enthusiastically tracking down hidden Santa pictures placed around the school grounds before completing a series of fun, physically engaging activities and skills circuits.

The entire Year 6 class would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to the many people—including our school staff and, especially, the PTFA—for the hard work and generosity that has ensured this Advent season has been so joyful and exciting.
