Y6 Be Safe Be Happy Week: Hygiene Workshop

9th Nov 2025

Our "Be Safe" theme was covered in depth when we were delighted to welcome Mrs Denham, an experienced nurse, into our Y6 classroom! The children took part in a very informative lesson focused on keeping ourselves and others healthy. Mrs Denham taught us how to best limit spreading germs, demonstrating the proper way to wash our hands and even the distance that bacteria from a cough can travel! The children then engaged in a fascinating practical activity: they used a special cream and an ultraviolet light to observe exactly how much "bacteria" was still on their hands. It was a brilliant, hands-on demonstration that reinforced the importance of good hygiene for our overall health and safety!
