Y6 Art: Impressionist Landscapes

7th Feb 2025

In this term's unit of learning within art, the children of Y6 have been exploring the styles and techniques of various abstract artists. This week, the children have studied Impressionism, specifically the techniques and use of colour practiced within the movement. The children then took part in a practical lesson, where they used the wet-on-wet watercolour technique to create their own impressionistic sky. The children then used bold, simple shapes in a typically abstract style, to complete their striking landscapes!
