Y4 Science: Changes of State
8th May 2026
As our Y4 children continue to explore the different states of matter in science, they conducted an experiment to see if it was possible to speed up the melting process of ice, concluding that adding heat, and breaking the ice up, worked best. Rather than use an ice cube to test our hypothesis, they decided to use ice pops! they learned how to accurately read the temperature gauge on a a thermometer, noting the freezing and boiling points of water.
Great work everyone (and a well-deserved treat at the end of a busy week!).
