Y4 History: Understanding Ancient Greek Democracy

In history this week, our Y4 children have experienced a democratic debate inspired by the ancient Greeks! 

They debated whether it would be better to live in the city-states of Sparta or Athens and compared the two very different cultures and ways of life. 

They concluded their debate by voting, using pebbles, following the custom and practice of the ancient Greeks, and it was a close call. However, the votes for Sparta won over those cast for Athens by 17-15!
