Y4 Art: Landscapes in collage.

6th Mar 2024

In our latest Art topic, the children of Y4 have been thinking about the composition and colour palette of various landscapes. Eventually, the children will use this knowledge to develop their weaving skills.

To begin with, we went outside into the school grounds to look at the different landscapes we have around us. We used our hands as viewfinders to find the perfect composition, thinking about shapes in the foreground and background.

The children have then each created a collage, based on different landscapes, whilst experimenting with different materials. They concentrated on placement of the materials to show depth between the foreground and background, and looked at colour matching to achieve the amazing results that they did.
