Y1 Science: Investigating Materials

Our Y1 children investigated which materials and objects were flexible and which were rigid. After identifying the flexible ones, they explored how their shapes could be changed. They experimented with actions such as rolling, squashing, twisting and stretching to see how each material responded.

Finally, they considered whether the material kept its new shape after being manipulated or returned to its original form.
