To launch our new key text, the children took part in an exciting lesson in which they worked together building a home for a soft toy pigs. Using bricks, blocks, straw and sticks, they were challenged to work as a team and consider which materials would be most effective.
Afterwards, we discussed which materials were easier or more difficult to build with, and explored the reasons why. The session concluded with a free-write activity, where the children chose what they wanted to draw or write about, inspired by their experience.
