Y1 English: Goldilocks and the Three Bears!

12th Oct 2025

Our current key text is the traditional tale, 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears'.

We began by reading the story together and the children were challenge to try and answer questions about the story in full sentences, incuding reasons for their answers, where possible. The children thought carefully about what happened first, next, after, later and also at different parts of the story, for example, the beginning, middle and end.

The children also thought about the differnt characters in the story, and espcially the different ways each was similar and different to the others. Everyone then made a character headband to represent what they knew.

In the next lesson the children will put events in order and weartheir headbands for a special drama activity.
