Y4 Weekly Update!

5th Dec 2024

Mr Folmer, Class Teacher

As the Christmas trees are going up and festivities begin to take place, we are still going full-steam ahead in Y4! This week we started a new English topic focused on writing a narrative with a historical setting and it is also very fitting for this time of year; The Annunciation. This is an incredibly important part of the nativity story, and we are developing our retelling of this event.

In Mathematics, we also started a new topic. data handling. To support this, we explored tally charts, frequency tables and bar charts. Everyone had fun, analysing data, answering questions and creating their own charts.

Furthermore, this week in Science we continued our exploration of the human digestive system, and we have moved on to exploring and creating our own food-chains. To do this we have understood the role of a producer, a consumer, the prey and predator and where they come within a chain.

Well done to the young people of Y4 for your hard work this week!
