Weekly Update!

12th Dec 2024

A message from Mr Folmer...

During our mathematics lessons, we have continued analysing data in its different forms, looking, this week, at time graphs. To support this we explored a time graph showing someone's bike journey time and distance, and from that information we inferred what might have happened at different points of the journey (depending on whether more or less distance was covered across a set time).

For English, we completed and published our fantastic writesing based on the Annunciation. Each piece was written with such much care, and the children should feel very proud of their fantastic work.

To support our writing we have had a grammar focus towards the end of the week, and we have been trying to master apostrophes and identify when they have been used to indicate possession or contractions.

To finish off this week's work we focused on audio recording and editing, specifically creating a podcast, in our computing lessons. We recorded a sentence each, and then when we listened to it back we created a list of dos and don'ts for audio recording. After that, we listened to a science podcast and recorded the different features that would be important to include in our own.

Children have a look over the weekend for a new podcast related to one of your interests. With an adult you can search for 'podcasts for kids about ______' and explore the vast world of podcasts!

Well done, Year 4!
