Y2 English: Using the Past Progressive Tense

19th Mar 2021

The children of Y2 are now learning how to use the past progressive form and using it in their sentences.

Past progressive describes an action that was happening at some point in the past and is no longer happening.

The past progressive is formed using the auxiliary verb ‘to be’ in the past tense, followed by the present participle of the verb in the sentence, e.g. I was riding my scooter.
