University Visitors

15th Mar 2019

As part of our science topic of 'Evolution and Inheritance', we were visited by Dr Iwan Evans and Dr Emma Noel from the Biology Department at the University of Sheffield.

Dr Evans is the husband of Mrs Evans, our former Deputy Headteacher.

They explained that they had researched changes in flies and fish to see how their bodies work. They brought some of the creatures that they used in their research with them....and they were tiny!

They explained that they had to use very strong microscopes in order to observe the changes in their little bodies.

We then had to create some of our own flies or fish based on an individual DNA code.
