Our Y2 children have investigated what texture is.
They considered various questions, including:
- What are the textures of a range of different materials?
- How was texture used by Henri Matisse in his work, ‘The Snail'?
- What materials did he decide to use?
- Can I identify the content (what it is)?
- Can I identify the form (light/dark)?
- Can I consider the process (how it is made)?
- Can I describe the mood of the piece (the feelings created)?
The children then created their own pictures using a variety of textures, inspired by nature's inspiration!
