St Wilfrid's Centre: Tour de Hallam

8th Jun 2025

On Thursday morning the children of Y6, accompanied by our KS2 school chaplains, were delighted to welcome Ruth Sheldon of the St Wilfrid's Centre charity as she stopped off at Our Lady of Lourdes Church on her charity bike ride.

This short but uplifting visit by Ruth and her helpers, who were all dressed in bumblebee costumes, was one of fifty-three churches that she visited within the Hallam diocese over the course of her week-long 'Tour de Hallam'. The tour was aimed at drawing attention to the vital work of the St. Wilfrid's Centre, as well as to raise money to fund its fantastic efforts to help those in need.

We had a brilliant time cheering on Ruth and welcoming her to our school and parish, and there was even time for a few photos and a chat before she set back off, on her way to the next church in the tour. We would like to congratulate Ruth on her fantastic achievement and thank the St Wilfrid's Centre, which offers such important support to those who need it most.
