The Brownlee Brothers' Triathlon

26th May 2022

Well done to some of the fantastic young people in Y5 and Y6 who took part in an amazing triathlon event on Thursday.

Upon arrival to the Springs Leisure Centre, the children went into a hall and watched a video of the Brownlee brothers talking to us about their experiences in triathlon events. After that, each participant was provided with a special T-shirt and a swimming cap to use and to keep.

The children then started the triathlon by swimming 3 lengths in a swimming pool. After completing this they immediately removed their swimming caps of and put their T-shirts on before heading to the cycling area.

Once in the cycling area the children put their helmets on and started cycling along the designated track. They had to do this twice and it was quite difficult because they were still wet from swimming.

Finally after completing the cycling element, the children headed to the running track. There they started running, and with the end insight, they were determined and eager to get across the finish line!

Once finished the children were greeted by staff from the Brownlee Brothers Triathlon team who gifted everyone a goodie bag and a medal. This event was really hard but also lots of fun!

Well done to all the children who took part and represented our school. Thank you to the staff who accompanied them, and of course, thank you to the organisers, who did a fantastic job!
