Our Sports Majors' Term 5 'Teamwork' Assembly

The Sports Majors led our latest school value assembly this morning.

Our Term 5 Learning Value is 'Teamwork'.

The Sports Majors spoke about teamwork and explained that it is the process of groups and teams working together in order to achieve a goal or to win, if it is a sports team because the value applies to sport and school life more generally.

In our school, teamwork is evident during PE, lunchtime sports or within classroom activities, and it is important that everyone tries to be good team members.

The Sports Majors encouraged the children to think carefully about some of the different ways that they can demonstrate teamwork and some of the responses offered included:

  • treating everyone equally
  • supporting our teammates always, even when they make mistakes
  • celebrating others' successes and as the children try to work together, have fun and achieve
