SJF Sports Day 2026

29th May 2026

Sports Day 2026 began with our annual Festival of Sport. The children were split into ten mixed-age teams across FS2, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, and took part in a carousel of activities organised with the help of our Sports Majors. Children were able to earn points for their skills in each event, their active participation, and for demonstrating our school values: passion, determination, honesty, respect, self-belief and teamwork. Thankfully, the weather was kind to us, and what a fantastic experience it was. It was wonderful to see the children supporting one another, their buddies and their teammates so generously throughout the day.

We congratulate all of the individual winners, including those recognised for demonstrating our school values. Well done to all the children, and huge thanks to Mrs Broadhead, our incredible volunteers and colleagues for making the occasion so special and memorable.

The morning’s activities were followed by a wonderful and fun-filled afternoon of races of all kinds. Once again, the children’s enthusiasm was exceptional as they continued to demonstrate our school values so positively.

We thank all the families and friends who joined us for the afternoon races, as well as our amazing team of volunteers and the PTFA. Your support throughout the day was greatly appreciated by us all.

We would also like to thank all members of staff for preparing for the event and supporting the children so brilliantly. Special thanks must go to Mr Ramsden for preparing the grounds, and to Mrs Broadhead for her magnificent coordination of this year’s Sports Day events. Further photographs will be added in due course.
