FS2: SJF Sports Day 2019

28th Jun 2019

We have had a brilliant day today, taking part in Sports Day activities this morning and races this afternoon.

This morning we joined the rest of the school in ten mixed class teams representing different countries. This year we had South Korea, France, Norway, Nigeria, Jamaica, New Zealand, USA, China, South Africa and Germany.

Each team made their way around ten different sporting events, earning points as they competed.

The activities were boccia, basketball, skipping, seated tennis, javelin, sprint-relay, hurdle-relay, long jump, hockey and football.

Extra points could be earned by anyone or any team who demonstrated out sports values as they went around the activities - determination, self-belief, passion, respect, honesty and teamwork.

Our older children were wonderful with the younger ones, helping, supporting and encouraging all morning.

The winning team was the USA and a trophy was awarded to the members of that team.

This afternoon we enjoyed our races and many of our families were able to come and watch.

We had running races, egg and spoon races and an obstacle race.

Some of the parents raced too - and even the teachers!

A really great day and the sun finally shone for us!
