SJF Sports Day 2022

11th Jul 2022

On Friday we took part in our first full sports day since 2019. It was great to have all the parents back and see them cheering on all the amazing and hardworking children we have here at SJF. All the children came to school dressed smartly in their PE uniforms, raring to go.

In the morning we welcomed back our inclusive SJF Festival of Sport which enabled the children to try (and enjoy) lots of different fun activities and challenges including boccia, basketball, skipping, javelin, a sprint-relay, a hurdle-relay, long jump, target throw, hockey and football.

Everyone had a great time!

Extra points were up for grabs to any team or individual who demonstrated our sports values as they went around the activities. A reminder that these are: determination, self-belief, passion, respect, honesty and teamwork.

In the afternoon we had two special events with competitive races; one for our younger children followed by one for the older children in Years 3 to 6. Our older children were wonderful with the younger ones, helping to support and encourage them all morning.

The winning team was 'India' and a trophy was awarded to the members of that team.

Jamaica won 'The Passion Trophy' for working amazingly well as a team and for encouraging each other so well.

everyone enjoyed a really great day of sport in the sun!  A huge 'well done' to everyone!
