SJF Sports Day 2022

  • Our first Sports day in two years is scheduled to take place on Friday 8th July 2022.
  • All children are asked to come to school wearing their PE uniform.

 

Morning Activities & Lunch

  • In the morning the Festival of Sport makes a welcome return, with the children working in teams to undertake a number of different and exciting sporting challenges.
  • As it is a special day, the children will have cold lunch in a grab bag (please order from the sandwich options) or they can bring a packed lunch in if they prefer.

 

Events for Younger Children 

  • Parents/Carers with children in FS2, Y1 and Y2 only will be invited in from 12.45pm, and asked to queue outside school.
  • FS2, Y1 and Y2 events will take place between 1.00pm-2.00pm.
  • When they have finished their races, the children will be taken back in to class.
  • Parents/carers will then have the option to either stay until the end of the afternoon to watch their older children race or - if they have do not have older children taking part in the later Y3-Y6 races - they have the option to take their young children home, and should go to the School Office to collect them. 
  • Please note that younger children cannot be collected early from the School Office and taken back to watch the rest of Sports Day. The younger children will stay in the their classrooms if they are not being taken straight home after their events.

 

Events for Older Children 

  • Parents/Carers with children in Years 3 to will be invited in from 1.45pm, and are also asked to queue outside school
  • The events for older children will take place between 2.00pm and 3.00pm.
  • Younger siblings will be kept in class.
  • When they have finished their races, the older children will be taken back in to class before being released at the usual time.

 

Everything is scheduled to finish at approximately 3.00pm and parents and carers are asked to wait on the playground for the children to be released at the end of the school day.

Please do not upload any photographs taken on the day to social media if the pictures include the images of other children too. Thank you for your cooperation.

 

Reserve Sports Day

In the event that the Sports Day cannot go ahead, for example, because of bad weather, events will be moved to Wednesday 13th July 2022. The same timetable will apply. The sports day will not be rescheduled after that.
