SJF Sports Day 2019

29th Jun 2019

This year’s sports day was a full day of activities for our children that culminated in our afternoon competitions. In the morning the children were organised in to ten mixed-age teams representing different countries.

This year the children’s teams were South Korea, France, Norway, Nigeria, Jamaica, New Zealand, USA, China, South Africa and Germany.

Each team completed a ‘round robin’ of ten different activities, earning points for their team as they did. This year the activities were Boccia, basketball, skipping, seated tennis, javelin, sprint-relay, hurdle-relay, long jump, hockey and football.

Individuals and teams could also extra points if they demonstrated any of our sports values - determination, self-belief, passion, respect, honesty and teamwork. Our older children were wonderful with the younger ones, helping, supporting and encouraging them.

In the end the winning team was the USA, and a trophy was presented to the members of that team by Rachel from our LINKS School Sport Partnership.

In the afternoon the children enjoyed the races cheered on and supported by the family and friends who were able to come along to watch. Some of the parents raced too - and even the teachers!

A really great day and the sun finally shone for us!
