SJF School Council Update

16th May 2021

This week the council met with Mr MacInnes in order to discuss further their plans for fundraising in school. They learnt about the importance of Parliament and the history behind the democratic process of the United Kingdom.

Here’s a word from one of our Y6 councillors on what was discussed.

“This week we learnt about Parliament and how it’s made up of the House of Commons, House of Lords and the monarch. We also found out about general elections – how they take place roughly every five years and how you have to be over eighteen to vote for a member of Parliament. It was really interesting!”
