SJF Eco Team: The Annual Environmental Review

6th Nov 2025

Here is an up

In our most recent SJF Eco Team meeting, the children finalised their 'Annual Environmental Review' of our school.

After splitting into small groups, with the older members aiding the younger ones, the children explored various areas of our school that show what we are doing well in terms of sustainability. We have now looked at our results and we are all pleasantly surprised! We have discovered that we have a positive approach to many of the areas already, with 100% success in both Maintenance of Outdoor Space and in Global Citizenship - with very high marks in all other areas.

Using this feedback, we began to work on our Action Plan: a document that will give us some starting points for our focus going forward. We have decided to begin work on our school biodiversity, energy and personal health.

Rowan, one of our Y3 Eco Team members, is excited to get started on the action plan – especially in the areas to attract more pollinators to aid our collective biodiversity.

"I really want to start planting outside. When we start seeing the flowers grow, we can take it in turns to water and look after them."

The children are looking forward to working on some fundraising ideas this term. We are hoping to build our budget higher and put it to use, bringing our Action Plan to life.
