Y1 Black History Week: Bessie Coleman

16th Oct 2023

During Black History Month, our Y1 children listened to a story about the life and times Bessie Coleman, an incredible woman who defied all the odds to achieve her big dream - which was to become the first black female pilot, all the way back in 1922. Bessie Coleman is inspirational and her wonderful example encourages us all to dream big

The children shared their own dreams about the things they would like to do and achieve when they are older.

We did some drama around this. Can you see if your child can remember what they are doing in the photos?
