Y5 Science: Decay & Recycling

13th Sep 2024

During the year, our Y5 scientists will undertake a project called 'Decay and Recycling'. They began, on Monday, by investigating what decay is by exploring the school grounds in order to spot different decaying materials.

They then set up three cardboard boxes with leaves, sticks, grass, newspapers, berries, feathers and other items found around the school grounds. They then placed the boxes in different locations and will check in on them each month to observe what happens and to see how the contents fair against the great outdoors, considering as they do, whether the location of each box makes a difference to what happens to the contents stored in each.

We will keep you posted, so look out for the updates!
