School Council Update

2nd Apr 2023

This week our SJF School Council met to discuss items on their agenda. Here’s a word from Renae, one of our Y3 School Councillors on what was discussed.

This week we have been talking about our project to create a safe driving banner for the school. We have decided that we want as many children as possible to be involved in design the banner, so we’re looking forward to sharing our plans with everyone very soon.

Following a meeting between Sheffield City Council and our School Council, I am delighted to share the good news that not only were the markings repainted, but new bollards have been installed in the space between the two gates that access our staff and visitor car park.

These bollards will hopefully prevent drivers causing a significant obstruction in the future by mounting the kerb, either partially or completely in this space, blocking the pavement for pedestrians and making it more difficult for families trying to cross the road. I would like to sincerely thank Mr MacInness and all our councillors for their lobbying of the council.
