Y1 RE: 'Belonging' - Our Mock Baptism

This week, in RE, we have been learning about how we are welcomed into the Church Family through the Sacrament of Baptism. 

The children acted out a mock Baptism in groups; acting out the parts of the priest, godparents and parents of the baby.

Everyone did really well, remembering some of the key words and phrases used during the service and were able to describe the symbols and and parts of a Baptismal service e.g. pouring of water; anointing with oil; the lighting of the baptismal candle etc.
