Y1 RE: Jesus is the Light of the World!

24th Jan 2025

In RE we have been learning the Bible story of the presentation of our Lord, and the parts played by Simeon and Anna during this special moment early in the life of Jesus. Both Simeon and Anna were very old because they had been waiting a long time to look upon the face of Jesus.

They were so happy to see Him when Mary and Joseph arrived at the temple to present him for the first time!

Our Y1 children did some role-play as they really thought about the special words shared by both Simeon and Anna when they gazed upon Jesus...

Simeon said, "I know this baby is the one who God has sent. He is the light of the world!" Anna also knew that Jesus was a very special baby because He was God's Son.

Here are some of the photos from when we re-enacted the story.
