PTFA Friday Fayre 2022

2nd Jul 2022

This week we were finally able to hold our first PTFA Friday Fayre since 2019, and nothing was going to stop us, not even the threatening and temperamental weather, which, in the end, thankfully, behaved!

First of all we would like to thank our fantastic PTFA Committee, and all who supported them, both in the lead up and on the actual day! You were all wonderful, and all your hard work certainly paid off, because the event was a huge success! Brilliant!

Special and important community events like this do not just happen, and so much had to be organised and prepared behind the scenes, and we are all so grateful for all you did to make it happen.

We would also like to thank all those who ran the different stalls and our friends from Castle Martial Arts, basketball and the SJF Musical Theatre Club for entertaining everyone with your amazing talents!

We would like to thank all those who prepared the delicious food and organised the refreshments and the music and announcements.

We would like to thank our friends from Our Lourdes parish for allowing the PTFA to use the Parish Centre and car park. We would like to thank South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue for sending an appliance from our local station so the children and their families could see, experience and learn more about the fire engine, its equipment and the important work of the firefighters.

This event, has traditionally, included the Y5 Enterprise Challenge, and so we were all delighted when it also made a welcome return! We would like to thank our Y5 children for all they did to make it the huge success that it was! Their focus, resilience, dedication and teamwork was incredible and we were all impressed by the way they worked together so cooperatively, in their groups, to create successful enterprises to raise money, including stalls, challenges and experiences for everyone to enjoy at the fayre. They were all wonderful, and should feel very, very proud of themselves. We would also like to thank their teachers; Mrs Holloway and Mrs Barrett, for the support they gave them, behind the scenes.

Finally, we would like to thank everyone who came along to support the event including parents, carers, extended family and friends, parishioners, neighbours as well as some of the parents, carers and children who will be joining us in September, for the new school year.

You were, and are, all very welcome, back in the heart of our special school community, where you all belong.

If you would like to support our PTFA with a little of your time, fundraising ideas, connections etc. please email them (ptfa@st-johnfisher.org). Thank you.
