Over the last couple of weeks we have been learning the names of common materials such as:
- wood
- metal
- plastic
- fabric
The children have been thinking about the properties of some of these different materials.
We have been trying to use some key vocabulary like: hard, soft, flexible, rigid, transparent, opaque, rough, smooth, dull and shiny.
Children sorted objects into different groups based on their specific properties.
At home why not ask your child to name different materials at home, and use some hey words to describe their properties?
