SJF Sport: Premier League U11's Girls' Cup

7th Nov 2022

On Friday eight amazing SJF students represented our school at a special U11's football tournament for girls, which was part of a national competition organised by the Premier League.

Our squad comprised of two players from Y5 and six players from Y6. They worked really hard as a team and performed brilliantly together!

The competition started promptly at 9am and did not finish until 3pm, meaning that the girls played a lot of matches against teams representing other Sheffield schools. Though they faced some tough opposition they were not faze! They just focused, dug deep and battled hard in every match to win.

Mr Johnson reported that all our players displayed such positive attitudes and in doing so, demonstrated every single one of our SJF Sports Values throughout the competition. He also wanted to give a special mention to Alexia who managed to score a hat-trick in one match, which was an incredible achievement!

our players were also given an opportunity to meet Ellie Wilson, who is a professional footballer who plays as a full-back for Sheffield United.

Congratulations Team SJF! Thanks also to the organisers, Mr Johnson, Mrs Steenson, Miss Barrett and Miss Luxton for looking after our team so well!
