Pray for Ukraine

12th Mar 2022

This week the SJF Chaplaincy Team created a special ‘Peace Tree’ for our Sacred Space. This tree contains prayers written by our children for peace in Ukraine. The sunflower, you see, is the national flower of Ukraine. Sunflowers always search for the sun, the light. We pray that God’s light will remove the terrible shadow of war.

Our Sacred Space is open for children to pause, reflect and add their prayers throughout lunch and playtimes. Many children in KS2 are also giving up a little time during their lunchtime break in order to come together and say a decade of the Rosary every day for peace, along with members of staff. It is wonderful to have such a vibrant and child-led prayer life in school especially in Lent and at this time, when our prayers are so needed.
