Our 'Statement to Live By'

16th May 2021

Our ‘statement to live by’ is ‘I understand what trust means’.

Time to talk: What is trust? Using a dictionary look up its meaning. Were you right? Close?

‘Trust’ is God’s gift. It something very special that is born out of the love and respect one person has for another. It is something to be treasured and is close in many ways to ‘faith’.

Trust is such an important part of school life and learning because every day children are challenged to trust the grown-ups in school who are there to help them learn. In each lesson the children are encouraged to step forward, sometimes out of their comfort zones, as they learn new and exciting things.

The children know that grown-ups are also there to ensure that each of them feels happy, safe and loved. The children understand that they can trust the adults if they have a worry to share.

What would school be like if children and grown-ups did not trust one another?

Can people be friends with one another if there is no trust in the relationship?

Why does Jesus call every single one of us to trust in Him, especially when we struggle and life seems hard?
