Our Latest Statement of Belief

31st May 2024
At the start of Term 6 our ‘Statement of Belief’ will be I notice we are the same and are different”

Time to think: Our school community is diverse, made up of children from different backgrounds. It makes our SJF family special. We celebrate our diversity, giving thanks for the way it enriches our school and experiences. We know that we are all children of God, and so understand why it is important to treat others with respect.

Failing to listen and to respect difference, can lead to mistrust and in some cases war.

It is therefore important that we not only pray for peace in places where war rages, but also that we all work together to ensure that our school is a calm and safe place for everyone, where similarities and differences are understood and celebrated.

Why do some people in our world, struggle so much with difference? Why do some struggle to notice all the things that are shared in common, and focus only, or too much, on what is different?
