Our Latest Statement of Belief

6th Mar 2025
Our ‘Statement of Belief’ is “I know it is ok for me to make mistakes”.

Time to talk:
We know that making mistakes is a normal part of learning. Making mistakes as we learn is ok and completely normal.

Worrying about them can turn us into fearful learners, who find learning scarier and therefore more difficult. This can cause us to struggle trying new things and reaching our potential.

Trying new things is what confident learners are happier doing. Just having a go is important. Trusting grown-ups when they offer encouragement is important too. Understanding that mistakes might be made – and it is ok if they happen - is also very important.

Can you think of a mistake that you once made that ended up making you more determined to get it right or to be better? Perhaps when you learned to ride a bicycle without stabilisers for the first time? Can you think of other times at home or in school?
