Our Latest BYB Challenge!

12th Dec 2025

The latest BYB challenge developed by our Sports Majors is called 'Sharks and Fish', which is based on 'tig'.

In groups of at least four, one child takes on the role of the shark while the others are the fish. The aim of the challenge is simple: the shark must try to tag the fish before they reach the coloured hoop. Our Sports Majors will call out a colour, and the fish must dash to the correct hoop as quickly as they can.

The level of challenge can be increased or decreased by:

  • using more or fewer hoops

  • choosing smaller or larger hoops

  • placing the hoops closer together or further apart

  • adding more than one shark

This activity is a great test of agility, speed and positioning — all essential skills in team games such as football, netball, basketball and rugby.

How will you do? Will you beat your best? Join the Sports Majors at morning break and find out!
