Y5 Mathematics: Nets of Shapes

27th Jun 2025

This week the children have been exploring 3d shapes and particularly the nets of 3d shapes.

Having put their 'detective hats' on, they investigated which hexominoes were nets of a cube. A 'net' is a flat representation of a 3D shape that can be folded up to make the 3d shape and the children were challenged to find out how many different nets of a cube there are.
