Mini Mermaids 2025

21st Jul 2025

This summer, a group of girls from Years 5 and 6 took part in the ‘Mini Mermaids’ running club, delivered in partnership with the LINKS School Sports Partnership.

Mini Mermaids is a unique co-curricular programme that blends physical activity with mindfulness, helping girls develop strength, confidence, and courage as they get active.

The programme is designed to be inclusive and empowering, allowing each participant to progress at their own pace and within their own abilities. Along the way, the girls discovered just how uplifting and energising being active can feel.

Parents and carers from across the country have shared positive feedback about the impact of Mini Mermaids. Many report noticeable improvements in their children’s confidence and resilience—benefits that extend beyond the programme and into their day-to-day lives, including the classroom. Of course, the girls also had a lot of fun!

The sessions were led by Megan from LINKS, and each one included a themed group discussion, journalling, games, active lessons, and workouts. This diverse range of activities ensured every girl found something she enjoyed, while also offering opportunities to develop and celebrate their individual strengths.

The programme ended with a celebratory 5km challenge, which our girls completed with enthusiasm and determination.

A huge well done to all our participants—and a big thank you to Megan for her fantastic leadership throughout!
