Y1 Science: Investigating Materials!

In our Science topic the children are learning about materials.

Today the children investigated a range of objects. Their task was to name the objects and the materials they were made from. 

In school the children looked at materials made from wood, plastic, glass, paper, metal, fabric, cardboard and stone.

Why don't you and your child go on a materials hunt at home? What object will you be able to find that are made from wood?  Would you be able to find five different objects that feel rough to touch? What material is used most in your home?
