Investigating Mass in Y1!

5th Dec 2018

Today the children have been finding the mass of objects using cubes as a non-standard way of measuring.

We have been trying hard to use related words like: 'heavy', 'heavier', 'light', 'lighter', 'balances' and 'equal'.

At home children you could try to compare the weight of objects by holding one in each hand, using themselves as a balance.

Which is heavier?

Which is lighter?

Making a cake together is a great way to apply knowledge and skills for weighing in a practical way.
