Marvellous Y1 Bridges!

17th Mar 2019

Last week the children investigated different ways to manipulate paper in order to strengthen it, including: folding, pleating and rolling.

On Friday, in small groups, the children drew on their skills in order to design and make a bridge using only newspaper and tape.

Their challenge was to create a structure capable of holding a 1KG weight.

It was not an easy task but the children worked together well.

Well done everyone! It was a challenge but you all tried so hard!

The children then completed a sheet to evaluate their bridge and consider strengths and weaknesses.
